About The Position

The Maintenance Manager works in collaboration with property management to oversee building maintenance functions, the maintenance budget, and vendor contracts for Decatur Place apartments. This is an on-site position. Mercy Housing encourages candidates with lived experience to apply. Pay is $29–$32 per hour, dependent on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of experience in skilled maintenance work.
Technical expertise in one or more building trades.
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
Work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
Comprehend and communicate in English, both orally and in writing, and present information to groups.
Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints, and draft working sketches.
Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

Patch and paint walls, trim, and ceilings.
Clean, repair, and maintain appliances.
Prepare units for new residents, including completing necessary turnover work.
Perform routine plumbing and electrical repairs.
Manage day-to-day maintenance functions.
Assist with maintenance budget oversight.
Coordinate and manage vendor contracts in collaboration with the property management team.
Effectively oversee the work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
