About The Position

ELS is hiring a Maintenance - Level 1 worker in Okeechobee, Florida. The role performs a variety of property maintenance duties, including light appliance repairs, minor plumbing and carpentry, painting, groundskeeping, and janitorial work. The Maintenance Worker collaborates with the team to maintain community standards and keep the property clean, safe, appealing, and functional. The position may require moving heavy objects, using heavy equipment, and driving maintenance trucks around the property. The worker must be willing to be on call for after-hours emergencies.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.
Willingness to be on call for after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

Ensure amenity spaces are well maintained and functioning properly.
Maintain grounds and keep them free of trash and debris.
Work with management to maintain a clean, safe, and appealing property.
Attend morning staff meetings to communicate daily vendor appointments and required work.
Communicate regularly and professionally with maintenance workers, management, and staff, and collaborate on special maintenance projects.
Report maintenance concerns directly to management and perform repairs.
Move heavy objects and, as needed, drive maintenance trucks to locations around the property.
Monitor and control maintenance inventory and supplies.
Perform light appliance repairs, minor plumbing and carpentry, painting, groundskeeping, janitorial work, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
