Maintenance Apprentice - Level 1
About The Position
The Maintenance Apprentice assists the maintenance department with repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, and facilities. The role supports maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the assigned area. The apprentice also dismantles machinery and equipment to inspect parts for defects and repair or replace them, completes paperwork and checklists, and keeps the work area clean and organized. Other duties and special projects may be assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager. This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic tools needed to perform the listed tasks.
- Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
- Lockout/tagout certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a helper in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and/or basic electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the assigned area.
- Dismantle machinery or equipment using common hand, power, and industrial tools to inspect parts for defects and repair or replace them.
- Maintain lockout/tagout certification.
- Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders or requests and checklists.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager.
