Maintenance Apprentice - Level 1
About The Position
The Maintenance Apprentice assists the maintenance department with repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, and facilities. The position supports maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance in an assigned area; dismantles machinery or equipment to inspect parts for defects and repair or replacement; completes maintenance paperwork and checklists; and keeps the work area clean and organized. The apprentice may also take on special projects or duties assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic tools needed to perform the job tasks.
- Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a helper in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventive maintenance, and/or basic electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance in the assigned area.
- Dismantle machinery or equipment using common hand, power, and industrial tools to examine parts for defects and repair or replacement.
- Maintain lockout/tagout certification.
- Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders or requests and checklists.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform special projects and duties assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager.
