About The Position

Chemtek is seeking an experienced mechanic or maintenance technician to lead the upkeep of its buildings, grounds, and equipment at its Yanceyville manufacturing facility. This is a working lead role: the lead plans jobs, determines required labor, materials, and tools, and performs the work. The position coordinates four skilled employees whose time is divided between maintenance and building and installing PavePro spray equipment, while also handling some jobs independently. The work varies and includes production equipment repairs, machinery installation, plumbing, electrical work, roof repairs, general building upkeep, mowing, grounds maintenance, and maintaining gravel parking lots and access areas. The lead establishes and follows a practical preventive maintenance schedule, coordinates employees and outside contractors, keeps management informed about work, costs, and issues, and responds to urgent repairs as priorities change. The role is full-time and on-site, primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional early, late, or on-call availability potentially required for urgent repairs or equipment installations.
