About The Position

The Director of Buildings and Grounds supervises maintenance staff and oversees maintenance and repair of all county-owned and leased buildings and structures, as well as care of the grounds. The role obtains cost estimates for repairs and inspects, schedules, and organizes preventive maintenance, repairs, and remodeling. It communicates and collaborates with employees, contractors, department heads, elected officials, and other county departments. The director manages budgets for employees, supplies, materials, and capital expenses, and handles multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

The position is an exempt, 40-hour work week, with possible on-call duties. Work is at various locations, with travel within the county. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be eligible for the Hepatitis B vaccine.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Pre-employment drug test, background check, and polygraph test required.
