About The Position

Interfor is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Intern to gain practical experience in the wood products industry. The intern will work alongside experienced maintenance and operations professionals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, learning how industrial maintenance supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The position offers exposure to modern sawmill operations and technologies, as well as opportunities to contribute to equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational performance projects.

This is an on-site internship with an anticipated start date in May 2027. The ideal candidate will be available for a 4–8 month term. Interns receive competitive compensation, with salaries starting at $3,700 per month based on school year and previous experience. A temporary living allowance is available for interns moving to the area.

Requirements

• Working toward a degree or diploma in an industry-related program, such as forestry, supply chain, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial engineering.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with the team and other departments.
• Interest in hands-on work in an industrial setting.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
