About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves monitoring equipment during production, performing necessary repairs or adjustments, documenting corrections, and conducting preventive maintenance. Responsibilities also include rebuilding and assisting with the installation of new equipment, as well as general maintenance throughout the facility. The job requires manual tasks such as greasing, changing oil, and cleaning equipment, as well as monitoring equipment and computer boards. Troubleshooting mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints is a key aspect of the role. The position may require working other shifts when necessary and adherence to safety rules like Lockout/Tagout and OSHA standards. Collaboration with other maintenance personnel is essential for information exchange. The role also involves working with fragile devices requiring precise attention and performing other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least 3 months of maintenance experience.
  • Enrollment in a maintenance / mechanical program can be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.
  • Ability to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other obstacles.
  • Ability to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and from very wet to very dry.
  • Ability to communicate and get along well with others.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to reach, lift and work overhead.
  • Ability to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Minimum waiting period of 180 days for rehire.
  • No more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
