About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is specifically responsible for performing maintenance on separator and chick lines. This position could work in any department of the hatchery. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 300lb buggies, and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area). Working on elevated surfaces is required in some areas. This position works in a dusty, cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess basic math skills to keep accurate records. Must be able to use basic hand tools, operate power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed. Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT). The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Applicant must reside in a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Requirements

  • Six (6) months of operator experience with one employer within the previous 12 months.
  • Three to five years of related experience, including at least three years in an industrial setting or relevant work environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and write in order to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program.
  • Must have the ability to pass pulmonary function test to dispense chemicals and comply with OSHA guidelines.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Reside in a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or Vocational Diploma preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of a diploma.
