About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves a variety of tasks including basic mechanical repairs, electrical work, and system maintenance. Requirements

  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Able to read & understand assignments.
  • Able to communicate orally & in writing.
  • Able to hear/respond to two-way radio.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors.
  • Basic knowledge of math.
  • Able to use various electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment.
  • At least 6 months of mechanical/maintenance experience within the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance, listed on the application.
  • 6 months of continuous employment with one employer within the last 24 months.
  • All applicants must complete the final task that is separate from the application.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring boiler and performing chemical tests on boiler.
  • Reading drawings & schematics of hydraulic & basic electrical systems.
  • Operating various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.
  • Performing duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water & steam pipes, lines, & systems.
  • Furthering education by outside training, company testing program & vendor training.
