About The Position

United Scrap Metal is seeking a Maintenance & Facilities Coordinator Assistant to help keep its facilities and grounds safe, clean, and operating smoothly. This is not an entry-level role, though the company provides hands-on training and opportunities to learn additional skills. Candidates should bring experience and proficiency in one or more relevant trades and be willing to develop skills in others. The role involves working in varied environments, including indoors and outdoors and across different seasons.

The assistant supports general repairs, cleaning, building and grounds upkeep, facilities projects, everyday team tasks, and seasonal work. The position offers a supportive, collaborative environment, on-the-job training, exposure to multiple trades, and room for career growth.

Requirements

• This is not an entry-level role.
• Strong experience and proficiency in one or more relevant trades, with willingness to continue learning in others.
• Willingness to learn and openness to coaching.

Responsibilities

• Help keep facilities and grounds safe, clean, and running smoothly.
• Assist with general repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas.
• Gain exposure to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and equipment operation.
• Support the facilities team with projects and everyday tasks.
• Help with seasonal work such as snow removal and groundskeeping.
