About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, experienced, hands-on Maintenance Engineer for the DoubleTree by Hilton Riverfront Jacksonville. The role maintains the hotel’s grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, performs preventive maintenance, and responds to maintenance requests and work orders. The position also includes routine inspections and other duties as assigned. Requirements

In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry.
Basic math skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to exceed the expectations of guests and team members.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery; visually inspect machines; and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of three years in a hotel maintenance position is preferred (the posting says “three (2) years”).
One year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical discipline is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Oversee the property grounds, public areas, and hotel guest rooms.
Conduct preventive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
Paint, replace electrical accessories, and maintain HVAC systems.
Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
Respond to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
Fulfill work orders in a timely manner.
Complete daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
