About The Position

This role involves checking, repairing, and servicing machinery, equipment, systems, and infrastructures to ensure industrial machinery and equipment run smoothly and reliably, including preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required
  • Machine shop safety
  • Machine shop skills as in welding, fabrication and construction
  • Understanding pneumatics, different types of controls, hydraulics, vacuum systems, refrigeration
  • Experience with general plumbing and building repair
  • Industrial electrical work: single and three-phase motor controls
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Manage safety devices: lockout, tagout procedures
  • Requires telephone communications skills, basic math skills, basic reading and writing skills
  • Must have basic computer skills and internet search skills
  • Must be available to work any shifts including graveyard and weekend hours if needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • within a food production environment preferred
  • Forklift, manlift or electric scissor lift certification(s) desired
  • Articulating boom electric lift, Telescopic boom gas lift preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
  • Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures
  • Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges
  • Keep production logs
  • Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to shift supervisors
  • Set up and verify the functionality of safety equipment
  • Start up and shut down processing equipment
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Duties may involve piping fitting; insulating; welding; machining; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning and balancing new equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drive, motors, or belts, checking fluid level, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components.
  • Orders parts and supplies from catalogs or suppliers as needed
  • Requests feedback from production team members on the operation of production machinery
  • Identify and correct safety issues on all equipment
  • Prioritize work orders and maintenance projects
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
