About The Position

RVI Scranton Maintenance Electrician Project Crew. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, including AC motor and DC drive systems, schematics, and troubleshooting. The position also involves various maintenance and fabrication tasks to ensure the plant's welfare. The ideal candidate will be able to perform electrical work, operate heavy industrial equipment, and possess fabrication and rigging skills. This role is project-based and may require travel to other facilities.

Requirements

  • Complete understanding and working knowledge of 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive system.
  • Ability to read and work off schematics.
  • Ability to use all electrical hand tools.
  • Ability to estimate and design basic electrical systems.
  • Willingness to perform any/all other duties to maintain the welfare of the plant.
  • Skills in welding, hydraulics, power transmissions, pneumatics, fabrication, pipe fitting, rigging, mechanical layout, and plumbing.
  • Ability to use various electrical and pneumatic power tools and equipment.
  • Suitable knowledge of removal, installation, and setup of rendering equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of all OSHA, NEC Codes and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to figure and calculate wire and pipe sizes.
  • Ability to line up pipe runs.
  • Ability to calculate estimated completion times.
  • Ability to weld, use cutting tools such as cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinders, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, basic single-phase terminations etc.
  • Ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Fabrication experience to build catwalks, handrails, transitions, equipment supports etc.
  • Rigging experience/certifications.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to document information.
  • Ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends, and any/all other hours as needed to complete the project.
  • Travel will be required to complete jobs at other facilities.
  • Must be able to work more than 12 hours if needed.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
  • Must have 3 months of industrial maintenance work experience listed on application.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems in the plant.
  • Install and replace conduit.
  • Perform welding, cutting, equipment removal and installation, structural fabrication, pipe fitting, and heavy equipment set up.
  • Operate various electrical and pneumatic power tools and equipment, including cranes and lifts.
  • Perform removal, installation, and setup of rendering equipment such as conveyors, pumps, cookers, hydrolyzers, presses, power transmission components, steam traps, ramps, catwalks, and piping.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times.
  • Perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools, including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, and basic single-phase terminations.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts.
  • Fabricate structures like catwalks, handrails, transitions, and equipment supports.
