About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for understanding and working with various electrical systems, including 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems. This role requires the ability to read schematics, use electrical hand tools, estimate and design basic electrical systems, and troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems within the plant. The position also involves installing and replacing conduit, and performing other duties to ensure the plant's welfare. A strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures is essential. The role also requires the ability to calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times. Basic electrical work, including using a digital multi-meter and terminating single-phase and three-phase motors, is expected. Additionally, the ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts is necessary. The job involves climbing stairs and ladders, lifting more than 60 lbs, and reading and documenting information. Effective written and verbal communication skills are also required.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 months of industrial maintenance work experience listed on application.
  • Must be willing to work shift A, B, C, or D.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.

  • Prefer electrical knowledge/skills or enrollment/degree in electrical field.

Responsibilities

  • Must have a complete understanding and working knowledge of 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive system.
  • Must be able to read and work off schematics.

  • Be able to estimate and design basic electrical systems.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems in the plant.
  • Be willing to perform any/all other duties to maintain the welfare of the plant.
  • Be able to install/replace conduit.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all OSHA, NEC Codes and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Must be able to figure and calculate wire and pipe sizes.
  • Must be able to line up pipe runs.
  • Must be able to calculate estimated completion times.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, basic single-phase terminations etc.
  • Must have the ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Must have the ability to document information.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
