The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for understanding and working with various electrical systems, including 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems. This role requires the ability to read schematics, use electrical hand tools, estimate and design basic electrical systems, and troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems within the plant. The position also involves installing and replacing conduit, and performing other duties to ensure the plant's welfare. A strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures is essential. The role also requires the ability to calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times. Basic electrical work, including using a digital multi-meter and terminating single-phase and three-phase motors, is expected. Additionally, the ability to operate heavy industrial equipment such as cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts is necessary. The job involves climbing stairs and ladders, lifting more than 60 lbs, and reading and documenting information. Effective written and verbal communication skills are also required.
