About The Position

This position is responsible for the production operation and will unload and wash all trailers, tankers and reefers, monitor cookers and soap and wash all areas of the plant. Load trucks, maintain the control room and complete accurate paperwork. Check lubrication on machinery, change oil and belts on gear boxes, perform equipment PM and auger inspections. Will assist maintenance when needed while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position requires: standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 60 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bending, stretching, reaching, working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors. Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high-pressure water hose with 30 pounds of pressure or more. Will be required to obtain the certification and operate a forklift or skid-steer loader. Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance skills such has mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, welding/fabrication, wiring, motor controls, and conveyor maintenance. Must have basic computer skills. Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations. Must have the ability to document information. Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.

Requirements

  • Mechanical/maintenance skills listed in work history or skills section on application
  • Willing to work shift A, B, C, or D
  • 18 years of age
  • Ability to obtain certification and operate a forklift or skid-steer loader
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical and maintenance skills such as mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, welding/fabrication, wiring, motor controls, and conveyor maintenance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ability to document information
  • Ability to communicate with others written and verbally
  • Proof of authorization to work legally in the United States
  • Pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
