About The Position

This position will perform tasks involving welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing and replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water and steam pipes, lines and systems in an industrial environment while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, plumbing and boilers.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • Require basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 30 feet.
  • Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
  • At least three (3) months of industrial maintenance work experience documented on their application.
  • Must be willing to work shift A, B, C, or D.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain certification and operate a forklift, skid-steer loader and man-lift.
  • Read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Document information.
  • Communicate with others written and verbally.
