The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for understanding and working with various electrical systems, including 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems. This role requires the ability to read schematics, use electrical hand tools, estimate and design basic electrical systems, and troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems within the plant. The position also involves installing and replacing conduit, and performing other duties to ensure the plant's welfare. A strong knowledge of OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures is essential. The role also requires the ability to calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times. Additionally, the electrician must be able to perform basic electrical work, use tools like a digital multi-meter, and work with three-phase and single-phase motors. Operating heavy industrial equipment such as cranes, boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts is also part of the job. The role involves physical demands such as climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting more than 60 lbs. Communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to document information are necessary.
