About The Position

RVI Scranton Maintenance Electrician Project Crew. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, including 110, 240, and 480-volt AC motor and DC drive systems. The position involves reading schematics, using electrical hand tools, estimating and designing basic electrical systems, and troubleshooting and maintaining plant electrical systems. The role also includes installing/replacing conduit and performing various other duties to maintain the plant's welfare. Skills in welding, hydraulics, power transmissions, pneumatics, fabrication, pipe fitting, rigging, mechanical layout, and plumbing are beneficial for project assistance. Additional duties may include welding, cutting, equipment removal and installation, structural fabrication, pipe fitting, and heavy equipment setup. The ability to operate various electrical and pneumatic power tools, cranes, and lifts is necessary. A suitable knowledge of rendering equipment, including conveyors, pumps, cookers, hydrolyzers, presses, power transmission components, steam traps, ramps, catwalks, and piping, is required for removal, installation, and setup. The position also demands a good working knowledge of OSHA, NEC Codes, and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the ability to calculate wire and pipe sizes, line up pipe runs, and estimate completion times. Fabrication experience for building structures like catwalks, handrails, and equipment supports, along with rigging experience/certifications, is essential. The role requires climbing stairs and ladders, lifting more than 60 lbs, and the ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and regulations, document information, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Must have a complete understanding and working knowledge of 110, 240, 480-volt AC motor and DC drive system.
  • Must be able to read and work off schematics.
  • Be able to use all electrical hand tools.
  • Be able to estimate and design basic electrical systems.
  • Be willing to perform any/all other duties to maintain the welfare of the plant.
  • Must have 3 months of industrial maintenance work experience listed on application.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends, and any/all other hours as needed to complete the project.
  • Must be able to work more than 12 hours if needed.
  • Must have rigging experience/certifications.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems in the plant.
  • Install/replace conduit.
  • Perform welding, cutting, equipment removal and installation, structural fabrication, pipe fitting, and heavy equipment setup.
  • Operate various electrical and pneumatic power tools and equipment, including cranes and lifts.
  • Perform removal, installation, and setup of rendering equipment, including conveyors, pumps, cookers, hydrolyzers, presses, power transmission components, steam traps, ramps, catwalks, and piping.
  • Ensure a good working knowledge of all OSHA, NEC Codes and Plant Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Calculate and figure wire and pipe sizes.
  • Line up pipe runs.
  • Calculate estimated completion times.
  • Weld and use cutting tools such as cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinders, etc.
  • Perform basic electrical work and use basic electrical tools including a digital multi-meter, wire/unwire 3 phase motors, basic single-phase terminations etc.
  • Operate heavy industrial equipment such as crane, boom lift, scissor lift, telehandler, forklift etc.
  • Build catwalks, handrails, transitions, equipment supports etc.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift more than 60 lbs.
  • Read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Document information.
  • Communicate with others written and verbally.
