About The Position

This position performs routine janitorial services at Hospice Savannah and affiliate companies. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a flexible schedule based on organizational needs. The Hospice Inpatient Unit must be cleaned seven days a week, so weekend cleaning duties alternate by week. Work in patient care areas may involve exposure to infectious diseases and requires standard safety precautions.

Requirements

• One or more years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety materials and facility-required documents.
• Ability to use motorized equipment.
• Knowledge of safety precautions for cleaning work, including chemical measurement and labeling, reading MSDS sheets, and using appropriate PPE.
• Ability to interact successfully with people at all levels of the organization and with the public.
• Minimal computer skills, including use of Outlook email.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
• Must pass a criminal background screening.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using a commercial carpet cleaner.
• Ability to strip and wax floors.
