About The Position

The Custodian performs custodial work and may assist with event setups. The role requires dependable, collaborative work, the ability to follow instructions, and the capacity to perform moderate to heavy physical labor. Preferred qualifications include custodial experience and the ability to operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely. Hazard Communication and Blood Borne Pathogens training must be completed before performing work to which the training relates.

Requirements

• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.
• Be dependable and reliable, and able to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting and carrying light to medium weight objects.

Nice To Haves

• Six months’ experience related to custodial work.
• Ability to operate and maintain heavy industrial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, powered scrubbers, buffers, and carpet shampooers, as well as other hand-operated tools.
• Ability to understand or knowledge of the safe use of various chemical substances used for cleaning and insect control.
• Familiarity with, or ability to learn, different table and chair arrangements for event setups.
• Successfully complete Hazard Communication and Blood Borne Pathogens training before performing work to which the training relates.
