About The Position

The Part-Time Custodian maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and general appearance of Youth Crisis Center (YCC) facilities in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, Florida. The role performs routine custodial duties, light facility upkeep, and related tasks to keep agency buildings and surrounding areas clean, safe, and welcoming for employees, clients, visitors, and community partners. The position requires working independently, managing assigned tasks efficiently, and traveling between designated YCC locations as needed. The position is part-time, approximately 3–4 days per week and no more than 20 hours per week, and reports to the Facilities Manager. A high school diploma or GED and one year of related experience and/or training are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Florida driver's license is required before employment.

Knowledge of tools, safety, general maintenance, and repair work.
Willingness and ability to work under supervision and in an organized manner.
Ability to work with other staff and clients when necessary.
Self-motivation to perform tasks as needed.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, including using units of American money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagram instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to travel between designated YCC locations as needed.
Regularly stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently walk and talk or hear; occasionally climb or balance.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine custodial duties at designated Jacksonville and St. Augustine facilities, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning common areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, offices, meeting spaces, and other designated areas.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with agency policies and applicable DJJ, DCF, and Health Department requirements.
Perform general upkeep of facility grounds and surrounding property as assigned.
Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs to the Facilities Manager.
Complete required cleaning, sanitation, and safety documentation as assigned.
Assist with monitoring janitorial supplies and communicate inventory needs to the Facilities Manager.
Follow established procedures for the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning products and equipment.
Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with employees, clients, visitors, and other stakeholders.
Work independently and complete assigned responsibilities within established timeframes.
Complete required training within established timeframes.
Attend meetings or training sessions as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
