About The Position

Bromley East Charter School is seeking a night custodian to provide building and grounds maintenance and help maintain a secure, clean, and organized environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic expertise in using cleaning materials and equipment.
• Intermediate English proficiency to understand equipment instructions, material handling requirements, and safety and accident-prevention guidelines.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills to interact positively and professionally with students, administrators, colleagues, parents, and community members.
• Intermediate competence in safety precautions, including operating and cleaning machinery and using ladders and stairs.
• Basic ability to participate in professional development and training.
• Basic ability to learn and apply cleaning methods and develop skills operating facility-specific cleaning machines.
• Basic ability to identify improvement opportunities independently and proactively communicate them to the Principal.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience cleaning buildings and/or maintaining grounds.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, seal, buff, and wash classrooms and restrooms.
• Gather and dispose of waste materials.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
• Maintain grounds, including sweeping, removing trash and outdoor debris, and clearing snow and ice.
• Inspect the building for security and safety.
• Communicate necessary major repairs or building-system enhancements to management.
• Follow protocols for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
• Move and store furniture and equipment.
• Set up and dismantle decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding for events.
• Obtain necessary cleaning and maintenance supplies or equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
