About The Position

The Maintenance Custodian maintains the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of James Avery facilities by removing debris and keeping areas neat and orderly. The role performs routine janitorial and custodial duties in accordance with established procedures and the direction of a Supervisor or Manager. This opportunity supports the Comfort and Fredericksburg locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. For assignments at the Comfort/Foundry location, duties also include collecting and transporting trash from the Fredericksburg store to the Fredericksburg Foundry dumpster for disposal on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Requirements

Be dependable, reliable, and organized, with the ability to manage work assignments efficiently.
Be able to read, write, and understand instructions, safety labels, and basic operational manuals.
Have the basic aptitude to safely operate, or learn to operate, mechanical equipment such as industrial vacuums, floor buffers, and other cleaning equipment.
Be able to safely lift, load, and deliver items weighing up to 25 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
For Comfort/Foundry assignments, have a valid State Driver's License and meet James Avery’s driving requirements.
For Comfort/Foundry assignments, be able to travel from the Fredericksburg store to the Fredericksburg Foundry for trash disposal on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, carpets, and floor mats, and otherwise clean floor surfaces.
Dust and clean furniture, equipment, doors, walls, mirrors, and interior windows; clean exterior windows as assigned.
Clean and disinfect countertops, appliances, sinks, restroom fixtures, and other high-touch surfaces.
Vacuum upholstered furniture and keep assigned areas clean, neat, and orderly.
Prepare cleaning solutions according to product instructions and safety requirements.
Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment, communicate supply or equipment needs to the appropriate individual, and properly store and secure materials.
Identify and report maintenance or repair needs.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Follow safety requirements, participate in required safety training, and promptly report unsafe conditions to appropriate company personnel.
For Comfort/Foundry assignments, collect and transport trash from the Fredericksburg store to the Fredericksburg Foundry dumpster for disposal on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
