About The Position

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the 3rd Shift Maintenance Crew Lead position in the Global Coatings Division. 3rd shift will be Sunday - Thursday, 9pm-5:30am, with overtime as needed, based on business needs. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assist in the daily functions of the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of previous experience in a general maintenance that has provided training in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills.
  • The ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, welding layouts, schematics, and complex electro mechanical assembly and/or erection directions.
  • Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
  • The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Five years of previous experience with overhead crane operations
  • Five years of previous experience operating a forklift
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
  • The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.
  • Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs and replaces broken parts.
  • Uses all types of power tools and hand tools
  • Repairs woodwork, minor electrical problems, plumbing and buildings.
  • Adjustment of functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary
  • Keeps work area clean; observes all safety procedures
  • Interprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructions
  • Maintains all types of forklifts and keeps in operating condition
  • Contributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racks
  • Carries out preventative maintenance program for all production equipment, mechanical devices, building and land, including maintaining maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.
