About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform skilled HVAC work to maintain a safe and comfortable living and working environment for O’Berry Center residents and staff. This is achieved by conducting general and preventive maintenance on all campus HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License
  • May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in general maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Skill in the use of tools required in at least two moderately complex trades.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange routine/basic information.
  • Ability to understand and work from sketches or penciled drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Air Handling Units (A.H.U.s): Replacing belts, air filters, and bearings, and cleaning drains.
  • Air Compressors: Replacing belts and changing oil.
  • Exhaust Fans: Maintaining belts and bearings, and cleaning.
  • Pumps: Checking and maintaining bearings and oil levels.
  • Ice Machines: Performing routine cleaning.
  • A/C Condensers: Cleaning and clearing coils and units.
