About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure Caswell Center's buildings are adequately maintained structurally and kept safe for residents and staff through preventive maintenance and renovations. This position serves as a lead carpenter and will also assist other areas of the general construction shop to include metal work, cement work, and operation of heavy equipment (aerial lifts, fork lifts, backhoe, and dump truck). As lead carpenter, this position will build cabinets, install floor tiles, build forms, repair boxing/eaves on buildings, installation of doors, installations of moldings, and repair furniture.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift 90lbs. in a safe manner.
Ability to work on a ladder from 5 feet to 40 feet.
Physically able to wear a negative pressure respirator.
Physically able to work in hot, cold, and confined spaces.
Physically able to use all tools required for this position.

Nice To Haves

Ability to design, build, and install cabinets.
Ability and knowledge of forming up and pouring concrete.
Knowledge of door installations, fabrications, and equipment.
Knowledge of equipment/tools of the carpentry trade.
