The primary function of this position is to coordinate maintenance needs and maintain systems for an accurate recorded history of fleet repairs, parts, maintenance and labor. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and in a team, and adherence to company policies. The Maintenance Clerk will be responsible for managing preventative maintenance schedules, originating and closing Work Orders, and coordinating with the transportation department for routine fleet vehicle maintenance. Additionally, the role involves maintaining parts inventory, utilizing a fleet database for tracking repairs and parts, and assisting maintenance staff with purchase orders and parts pickup. The position also ensures mechanics have necessary tools and manuals, assists with cost reporting, and sets up and maintains DOT required files. Maintaining an orderly shop and assisting with office cleaning are also part of the duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong math, reasoning, analytical, communication, and computer skills, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities, and knowledge of Accounts Receivable.
