About The Position

The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for general store cleaning and upkeep. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms; clearing garbage around the store and in offices; sweeping and mopping offices; cleaning the team member breakroom and the store’s front porch and parking lot; and ordering and restocking supplies. The clerk also maintains an organized supply closet and mop room, keeps cleaning spray bottles filled at checkstands, and clears, wipes down, and returns carts to their proper location. Other special projects and tasks may be assigned. The position may require use of cleaning products and equipment, including brooms, mops, a baler, and a trash compactor.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
No previous experience is needed; willingness to learn is required.
Ability to communicate with others.
May be required to use cleaning products and equipment, including brooms, mops, a baler, a trash compactor, or other equipment.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
Ability to move and handle merchandise and products with constant manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect all bathrooms.
Empty and clear garbage outside, around the store, and in offices.
Sweep and mop offices.
Clean the team member breakroom and the store’s front porch, including the parking lot.
Order and restock supplies for bathrooms, the breakroom, and the supply closet as needed.
Keep the supply closet and mop room clean and organized, including hanging mops and rinsing the mop bucket.
Ensure cleaning spray bottles are filled and available at each checkstand.
Keep the parking lot clear of carts and return carts to the proper store location.
Remove clutter from carts and wipe them down before putting them away.
Work on special projects and other assignments or tasks as assigned.
