About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a full-time Maintenance Clerk at Halfway Landfill near Carlsbad, New Mexico. The role supports the Maintenance Department with administrative duties and shop work, including maintaining records and inventory, coordinating purchasing information, and assisting shop personnel with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and the stated workweeks are approximately 60 to 72 hours. Pay is $20–$24 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with vehicle, hand, air-powered, and battery-powered tools and equipment parts to assist with equipment repairs.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
Proficiency in 10-key data entry, keyboarding, and typing.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Highly organized.

Responsibilities

Gather, input, retrieve, and maintain maintenance information in computer and manual systems.
Provide general clerical support for the Maintenance Department and communicate with the Maintenance Manager.
Perform filing, photocopying, scanning, posting notices, and ordering parts and supplies as directed.
Develop and issue computer reports as requested.
Assist with and/or prepare materials.
Compile purchasing information for maintenance materials, including item identification, cost, vendor, and freight charges.
Review documents for sufficiency and complete necessary follow-up.
Maintain files and inventory records for orders placed and received, including delivery schedules.
Use parts-management software, Excel, and other office programs.
Maintain the parts warehouse and inventories in accordance with company policy.
Use software applications, including at minimum Microsoft Word and Excel.
Assist shop personnel with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
