About The Position

The Maintenance Building & Grounds role helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility by performing equipment repairs, building and grounds maintenance, and supporting daily operations. The position prioritizes workplace safety, responds to maintenance needs, assists with seasonal upkeep, and helps ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working condition. This is a full-time, first-shift position in Alexandria, Minnesota, scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a base pay range of $18.00 to $25.48 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to recognize safety concerns.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coordination and judgment skills.
• Alertness and careful attention to avoid injury to self and others.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a field relating to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, or mechanics.
• At least one year of experience in building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, or mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines.
• Conduct general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, painting, general cleaning, changing light bulbs, and other building and grounds upkeep.
• Remove snow and ice using hand and power equipment to keep exits, sidewalks, pallet storage, loading docks, and parking areas clear and as safe as possible; roof work may be required as needed.
• Conduct processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines.
• As a member of the maintenance team, act as an emergency coordinator and respond immediately to workplace accidents to tend to the tools and equipment involved.
