About The Position

St. Charles Borromeo Parish is seeking a part-time Maintenance Associate to assist with maintaining the grounds at the Parish property in Port Charlotte, Florida. This hourly, nonexempt position reports to the Pastor and is scheduled for 25 hours per week. The role includes groundskeeping, care of equipment and supplies, and related maintenance duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic landscaping experience and skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Enjoy working outside and be able to work in Florida weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, and reach throughout the day.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a background check, including an FDLE Level 2 fingerprint check.
• Must pass a post-offer DOV-assigned physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and cultivate grounds, including planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, and irrigation.
• Follow proper cleaning methods and ensure the proper storage and care of equipment and supplies.
• Operate small power equipment, including lawnmowers, weed eaters, and pressure washers.
• Perform landscape and grounds maintenance, and maintain equipment and possibly a golf cart.
• Hang hurricane shutters when needed.
• Perform other duties as directed.
