About The Position

St. Charles Borromeo Parish is seeking a part-time Maintenance Associate to assist with maintaining the grounds at the Parish property in Port Charlotte, Florida. This is an hourly, nonexempt position for 25 hours per week and reports to the Pastor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic landscaping experience and skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Enjoy and be able to work outside in Florida weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, and reach throughout the day.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check, including FDLE Level 2 fingerprinting.
• Must pass a post-offer DOV-assigned physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and cultivate grounds, including planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, and irrigation.
• Use proper cleaning methods and properly store and care for equipment and supplies.
• Operate small power equipment such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, and pressure washers.
• Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance, and maintain equipment and possibly a golf cart.
• Hang hurricane shutters when needed.
• Perform other duties as directed.
