About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Maintenance Associate to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the facility and ensuring a safe and positive environment for both customers and associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong skillset in building, repair, and installation, a keen eye for safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Requirements

  • Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school, OR 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skillset and ability to build, repair, and install facility fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, wall coverings, windows, doors, and partitions.
  • Diligence in identifying safety issues.
  • Knowledge of all equipment and tools and how to use them properly.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve.
  • Physical ability to perform the tasks of a maintenance associate.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and install facility fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, wall coverings, windows, doors, and partitions.
  • Identify and address safety issues throughout the store.
  • Assist with floor moves, display construction, and other retail floor-related tasks.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of amusement rides, attractions, and simulators.
  • Support outside service companies and vendors with facility maintenance tasks not handled by the in-house team (e.g., escalators, elevators, HVAC, boilers, sprinklers, generators, aquariums, restaurant equipment, landscaping).
  • Properly use and maintain all equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with and assist other associates as needed.
  • Possess the physical ability to perform all maintenance tasks.
  • Work independently and effectively solve problems.
