About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant works with the Maintenance Director to assist with organizing, directing, and supervising the operation of the power plant and the maintenance and repair program for buildings and grounds. The role coordinates maintenance and repair activities with the functions of other departments. The position offers an opportunity to develop into a Maintenance Director.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Good attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree or associate degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic facility repairs to property, equipment, and grounds.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment, except for services performed under contract by outside contractors.
• Run errands and handle incoming and outgoing freight.
• Lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Perform routine inspections of property and equipment and maintain adequate work records.
• Perform occasional paid on-call duty for emergencies as needed by the Administrator and Maintenance Director.
