About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant supports a safe and comfortable environment for residents by helping keep the facility running smoothly and safely. The role requires reliability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, the ability to multitask, and the ability to work well under pressure. The Maintenance Assistant performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, maintains the physical plant, grounds, equipment, and tools in safe working order, and supports the Maintenance Supervisor with daily operations and preventive maintenance. The position also helps ensure a clean, hazard-free environment and responds to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements

Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, washers, dryers, and emergency generators.
Understanding of basic preventive maintenance principles.
Clear communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
A safety-focused, detail-oriented approach.
Ability to adapt to changing facility needs and priorities.
Reliability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, ability to multitask, and ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned.
Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of facility equipment and tools.
Maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment in safe, working order.
Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily operations and preventive maintenance.
Ensure a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Report and respond to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.
