About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant supports the safe, comfortable, and efficient operation of the facility. The role performs routine maintenance, assists with minor repairs and equipment upkeep, and helps maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment in safe working order. The assistant supports the Maintenance Supervisor with daily operations and preventative maintenance, keeps the environment clean and hazard-free for residents, staff, and visitors, and reports and responds to maintenance issues promptly. Dependability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, multitasking, and the ability to work under pressure are important to success in the role.

Requirements

Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, washers, dryers, and emergency generators.
Understanding of basic preventative maintenance principles.
Clear communication and ability to work well within a team.
Safety-focused and detail-oriented approach.
Ability to adapt to changing facility needs and priorities.
Dependability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, ability to multitask, and ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned.
Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of facility equipment and tools.
Maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment in safe, working order.
Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily operations and preventative maintenance.
Ensure a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Report and respond to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.
