Maintenance Assistant
About The Position
The Maintenance Assistant helps keep the facility operating smoothly and safely, supporting a clean, comfortable, and hazard-free environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role requires reliability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and work under pressure. The Maintenance Assistant performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, maintains the physical plant, grounds, equipment, and tools in safe working order, and supports the Maintenance Supervisor with daily operations and preventive maintenance. The role also includes reporting and responding to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements
- Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, washers, dryers, and emergency generators.
- Understanding of basic preventive maintenance principles.
- Clear communication and ability to work well within a team.
- A safety-focused, detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to adapt to changing facility needs and priorities.
- Reliability, trustworthiness, consistent attendance, and ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the facility as assigned.
- Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of facility equipment and tools.
- Maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment in safe, working order.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily operations and preventive maintenance.
- Help ensure a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Report and respond to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.
