About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community. The position oversees cleaning throughout the facility, particularly common areas and apartment bathrooms, and may complete maintenance request reports, operate laundry equipment, and clean office areas when assigned. The role requires protecting resident privacy and confidentiality, following policies on the release of resident information, attending required in-services and staff meetings, and completing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
Polite and courteous conduct toward residents, visitors, coworkers, and management.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push, and pull for extended periods.
Ability to lift 25 pounds and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet.
Must wear the designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Housekeeping experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Oversee cleaning of the facility, with particular emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms.
Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
Report building or furnishing deterioration or damage to the housekeeping supervisor.
Operate laundry equipment when needed.
Report inadequate supplies to the housekeeping supervisor.
Use approved cleaning products and store cleaning supplies properly.
Clean office areas when assigned.
Dust and clean window blinds throughout the community.
Dust furniture, bookshelves, and other items in resident apartments and common areas.
Vacuum common areas and resident apartments.
Keep common-area and resident bathrooms clean.
Clean apartments at resident move-out.
Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality and follow policies regarding release of resident information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
