About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant/Janitor supports both maintenance and janitorial functions within the feed mill. This role includes operating equipment, assisting in the control room, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to facility needs, while also maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The position reflects a dual responsibility, ensuring smooth operations and a safe, clean environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive maintenance truck and operate forklift as needed.
• Assist operators in monitoring and adjusting equipment.
• Help run production machines when required.
• Grease machinery, check fluid levels, and perform basic upkeep.
• Support repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Mow lawns, pull weeds, salt sidewalks, and handle seasonal grounds work.
• Clean floors, restrooms, break areas, and maintain sanitation standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and feed mill safety protocols.
• Flex between maintenance and janitorial functions depending on daily needs.
• Assist in spill cleanup, equipment shutdowns, or urgent facility issues.
