About The Position

Cascade Management, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician I/Janitor to join their team. This full-time position involves assisting the maintenance team in keeping buildings and grounds clean, orderly, and safe. The role requires performing minor plumbing, janitorial duties, and other related maintenance activities to ensure buildings are in good repair. Requirements

  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move 50-75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employees must supply their own tools to perform maintenance work at worksites.
  • A list of required tools must be obtainable within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the maintenance team in keeping the building in good repair by performing minor plumbing, janitorial, and other related maintenance activities when required.
  • Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Pick up trash on grounds. Keep breezeways, sidewalks, and grounds clear of clutter and debris. Rake and shovel as needed.
  • Assist in cleaning and turnover of vacant apartments to make them rent-ready.
  • Help in conducting move-out inspections and reporting, including checking smoke detectors.
  • Assist in the completion of maintenance requests, work orders, and update Property Maintenance Log daily.
  • Help in performing regular preventative maintenance inspections of all units.
  • Notify the Community Manager of safety-related issues and lease agreement violations.
  • Travel as required for in person classes and annual education conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
