About The Position

The Maintenance Assistant/Janitor supports both maintenance and janitorial functions within the feed mill. This role includes operating equipment, assisting in the control room, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to facility needs, while also maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The position reflects a dual responsibility, ensuring smooth operations and a safe, clean environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate maintenance truck and forklift.
Assist operators in monitoring and adjusting equipment in the control room.
Help run production machines when required.
Perform preventive maintenance such as greasing machinery, checking fluid levels, and basic upkeep.
Support repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting under supervision.
Maintain facility grounds by mowing lawns, pulling weeds, and salting sidewalks.
Perform janitorial tasks including cleaning floors, restrooms, and break areas.
Follow safety protocols such as lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage.
Adapt between maintenance and janitorial functions based on daily needs.
Assist in emergency response situations like spill cleanup or equipment shutdowns.
