About The Position

The Maintenance and Repairs Lead must have background working in new construction, expansions, or repairs and maintenance projects, specifically in swine and agricultural buildings. This role involves leading a team of 1-3 individuals in technician roles and offers an opportunity for an ambitious individual to advance their skillset and career while contributing to the company's growth.

Requirements

  • 2 years in a construction/maintenance and repairs role with proven leadership ability.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable by WFR insurance.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Results driven.
  • Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot.
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Great communication.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter.
  • Strong integrity.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk and be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat & kneel.
  • Capable to do repeated actions.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned barn clients and field phone calls for them.
  • Troubleshoot client problems and determine the best course of action for timely resolution.
  • Ensure work orders are addressed efficiently and maintain excellent communication with clients and management regarding their status.
  • Manage, oversee, and direct crew members' activities to ensure projects meet company/management standards.
  • Efficiently manage time at locations, identifying areas needing attention and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Enforce and educate on biosecurity policies (showering, disinfecting tools, downtime procedures).
  • Teach, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports on work activities.
  • Ensure daily logs are accurately completed by all team members.
  • Manage inventory used for projects.
  • Participate in various projects including new construction, expansions, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Take direct responsibility for work completion and actively participate in the physical labor.
  • Maintain excellent communication with management and crew members.
  • Schedule and complete bi-annual sow farm walkthroughs with management.
  • Assist with other areas of the business as needed.
