Maintenance 1 Technicians maintain and support the safe, reliable operation of company vehicles, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other assigned mobile and material-handling equipment. The role includes scheduled preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, replacing worn or damaged components, minor mechanical repairs, and assisting with troubleshooting. Technicians perform routine tasks independently within their training and qualifications, and escalate complex repairs and safety concerns to higher-level maintenance personnel. The position requires a working understanding of mechanical systems, basic electrical components, hydraulic systems, equipment safety requirements, and accurate service documentation. Technicians collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance team members to minimize downtime and keep equipment in safe operating condition. As a faith-based organization rooted in biblical principles, the company expects associates to learn, embrace, and model its core values in their actions, decisions, and collaboration. This job description may not include every activity, responsibility, physical demand, or work-environment condition. These may change at any time, with or without notice. The role is performed in manufacturing facilities, maintenance shops, equipment service areas, and outdoor locations where company vehicles, forklifts, cranes, and material-handling equipment operate. It regularly involves exposure to moving equipment, mechanical and hydraulic systems, electrical components, lubricants, oils, grease, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Work may take place near active production operations or overhead lifting equipment. Associates must follow applicable safety procedures, including equipment isolation, lockout/tagout, fall protection, and PPE requirements. The physical demands include regularly standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive movements. The associate must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques, assistance, or mechanical lifting equipment. Duties may also require working around, beneath, or above equipment; accessing elevated maintenance areas with approved equipment; climbing stairs or ladders; and working in confined or restricted spaces when trained and authorized.
