About The Position

To provide assistance to the facilities department utilizing skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, HVAC, roofing, mechanical, and sheet metal work in carrying out maintenance within the school district. This is a temporary position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities including: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Masonry, HVAC, Roofing, Mechanical, Sheet Metal Work.
• Holds a valid CT Drivers License.
• Sufficient strength, stamina and ability to perform effectively the assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Must be punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the facilities department.
• Perform major and minor repairs to building and grounds.
• Conduct electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and masonry repairs.
• Perform HVAC repairs, roofing, mechanical repairs, and sheet metal work.
• Handle glazing, snow plowing, grass cutting, and sewage system maintenance.
• Engage in landscaping, moving materials, and working with artificial platforms.
• Undertake minor construction and renovation projects.
• Perform any other related work directed by the facilities supervisor.
• Unload trucks, move deliveries, and distribute freight and school materials up to 100 pounds.
• Climb step stools or ladders.
• Properly use safety equipment to prevent injury.
