About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, operation, and general upkeep of Crystal Tree Golf & Country Club facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, attractive, comfortable, and fully operational environment for Members, guests, and employees. The Maintenance Engineer will perform preventative maintenance, respond to work orders and facility issues, troubleshoot equipment and systems, and assist with outside contractors and service providers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while communicating effectively with General Manager and other departments.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, and basic technical documentation.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.
  • Valid driver's license

  • Experience working in a private country club, hotel, resort, commercial property, school, hospital, or similar facility.
  • HVAC experience or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of Club facilities and identify maintenance, repair, and safety concerns.
  • Complete general repairs throughout the Clubhouse and Club facilities.
  • Repair and maintain doors, locks, hardware, furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other building components.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, valves, and related fixtures.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting within the scope of training and applicable regulations.
  • Address heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning issues and coordinate with qualified HVAC contractors when necessary.
  • Maintain mechanical rooms, utility areas, storage areas, and maintenance spaces in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist with seasonal opening and closing procedures for Club facilities and amenities.
  • Establish and follow a regular preventative maintenance schedule for Club equipment and building systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, laundry, pool, and other facility equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and completed repairs.
  • Identify potential problems before they become costly repairs or operational disruptions.
  • Make recommendations to General Manager regarding equipment replacement, repairs, and capital improvements.
  • Ensure Member-facing areas are maintained to a high standard of appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues affecting dining rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, fitness areas, pool facilities, patios, golf areas, and other Club amenities.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and facility preparation for Club events when needed.
  • Monitor lighting, temperature, water systems, furniture, fixtures, and other components of Member areas.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with Members and guests.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and facility-related equipment.
  • Monitor building automation systems, alarms, pumps, boilers, HVAC systems, water systems, and other mechanical equipment as applicable.
  • Assist in monitoring utility usage and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Maintain an inventory of commonly used maintenance supplies, parts, and tools.
  • Notify General Manager when supplies or replacement parts need to be ordered.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all Club safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of Club facilities.
  • Identify and immediately report hazardous conditions.
  • Assist with fire, life-safety, emergency, and security systems as directed.
  • Maintain required documentation, inspection records, and maintenance logs.
  • Follow all applicable building, electrical, plumbing, fire, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work practices at all times.
  • Coordinate and assist with outside contractors performing work at the Club.
  • Provide access to mechanical rooms and work areas as necessary.
  • Monitor contractor work to ensure projects are completed according to Club expectations.
  • Report deficiencies, delays, or concerns to General Manager.
  • Assist General Manager with obtaining information and estimates for repairs and capital projects.
  • Assist with maintenance of exterior building areas, sidewalks, patios, decks, entrances, and other Club property.
  • Coordinate with Greens & Grounds Superintendent regarding snow and ice removal, storm preparation, and weather-related facility response as needed.
  • Perform seasonal maintenance and facility preparation.
  • Assist with exterior lighting, irrigation-related issues, drainage concerns, and other facility needs as directed.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with the General Manager and department heads.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from all departments.
  • Communicate the status of repairs and projects clearly and professionally.
  • Coordinate work to minimize disruption to members and Club operations.
  • Work cooperatively with Golf, Food & Beverage, Aquatics, Racquet Sports, Housekeeping, Greens & Grounds, and Administrative departments.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding Club operations and Member matters.
