About The Position

Performs maintenance work on assigned buildings, facilities, and equipment; also performs occasional custodial duties. Coordinates and performs maintenance tasks in electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatics, plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting and surface preparation. Operates various types of specialized equipment. Oversees the work of outside contractors. The Maint/Mech II position is accountable for the efficient operation of all the equipment and instrumentation throughout the facility, both inside and outside of the building. This position accomplishes the organizational objectives by ensuring that all equipment and instrumentation is operating at optimal levels. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance and special projects to assist the manufacturing. Focus will be in the area of installation, maintenance, fabrication and repair of equipment for the mixing and production departments. Must be able to work independently and can trouble shoot and fix maintenance issues with little to no assistance.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or instrumentation maintenance; ability to read blueprints and manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have the legal right to work in this country without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status.
  • Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Installation, maintenance, fabrication and repair of equipment for production departments. Support changeovers as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment failures, including HVAC units, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and building components.
  • Conduct building and equipment inspections to identify issues, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and update maintenance logs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas (e.g., maintenance buildings, storage, boiler rooms), sanitize workspaces, and keep tools and supplies organized.
  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and materials; place orders, transport supplies, and replenish equipment as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians; assist in moving equipment, furniture, and materials.
  • Special projects to assist the manufacturing and pigmenting of mixes. Operate equipment such as pressure washers, industrial cage washers, and building automation systems; perform calibration and basic operating functions.
  • Update work orders, record services performed, and communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow workplace health and safety protocols; assist with facility security duties when assigned.
