About The Position

Suburban Volvo Cars is hiring a Mainline Technician to perform automotive repair and maintenance work. Starting pay is $23.00 or more per hour, based on experience and certifications. ASE and manufacturer certifications, diagnostic ability, and related automotive experience will be considered when determining compensation. The role is intended for Class B and/or C level technicians with 2–5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop. The technician performs work described on repair orders, diagnoses malfunctions, completes repairs according to applicable safety requirements, and road-tests vehicles to verify repair quality. The role also includes documenting work and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanic’s tools.

Requirements

Class B and/or C level technician with 2–5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop.
Up-to-date ASE and manufacturer certifications.
Experience using scan tools and service information systems.
Ability to independently perform brake, suspension, and steering repairs.
Proficiency in engine maintenance and basic electrical diagnostics.
Acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and complete work according to applicable safety requirements.
Road-test vehicles to ensure the quality of repair work.
Document work performed on repair orders and record test procedures, results, and time according to company recording and clocking procedures.
Provide and maintain an inventory of normal mechanic’s tools.
