Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Proficiency with keyboarding and Windows-based PC applications
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • a college degree is a plus and may provide a fast track to management
  • Background in mail room, customer service, hospitality, or retail preferred
  • CDL not required but a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect mail from designated postal locations, sort it by department or recipient, and distribute it throughout the facility.
  • Handle all categories of incoming mail and shipments, including USPS, FedEx, certified, overnight, confidential, interoffice, domestiic & international items.
  • Record, monitor, and promptly deliver time-sensitive and trackable letters and packages.
  • Follow established security procedures to maintain accountability and an accurate chain of custody for controlled or sensitive deliveries.
  • Process outbound mail and shipments, selecting the most appropriate carrier and service level based on cost, timing, and handling requirements.
  • Manage returned mail and business reply correspondence, including documenting expenses for departmental allocation when required.
  • Monitor shipping materials and related supplies, maintain organized storage areas, and replenish inventory before stock becomes depleted.
  • Check convenience areas each day and restock copier paper and other commonly used paper products.
  • Assist with workplace preparations and service needs related to newly hired employees.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of the facility to identify service needs, address supply issues, and assist employees with mailing and shipping questions.
