About The Position

SAG-AFTRA is seeking a Mailroom Clerk for its New York Administration office. This role is crucial in supporting our members by ensuring the efficient handling of mail and maintaining office supplies and facilities. The Mailroom Clerk will process all incoming and outgoing mail, manage postage, supervise UPS operations, monitor and maintain departmental stock and supplies, interact with vendors, set up conference rooms, replenish kitchen supplies, and oversee lighting maintenance and shelving installations. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage a diverse workload with accuracy and professionalism.

  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
  • High school diploma and 1 to 2 years prior applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Processes all in-coming and out-going mail for the New York office.
  • Responsible for regulation of postage meters.
  • Supervises United Parcel Services.
  • Responsible for monitoring departmental stock and supplies.
  • Maintains ledger for all departmental supplies ordered and received.
  • Maintains inventory log of departmental supplies.
  • Interacts with paper, product and supplies vendors, maintaining records of order status and impending calls.
  • Responsible for daily setup of conference rooms for meetings and special events which includes breaking down and setting up of boardroom tables.
  • Responsible for daily replenishing of supplies for the kitchen and pantry areas.
  • Oversees and assists in installation and repairs of shelving units, bookcases cabinets, etc.
  • Oversees the lighting maintenance for the entire office.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
